The Landscape Photography Vlogcast
................a fresh new look into landscape photography
Ever since Apple introduced podcasts to Itunes it wasn’t long before some interesting content arrived from the photography scene. I remember hearing the first podcasts from such channels as Master Photography and Tripod, for example, and was immediately addicted to soaking up as much information that my brain could take with interviews from prestigious and populist landscape photographers.
Although I had already been photographing for years, in the digital age with rapid movement in techniques and technology, there was always something new to learn, and whenever a podcast came up I'd be the first to connect and listen. It assisted me to skip from a very slow progression over the years into refining my work by opening up a new channel in my thought process. You know, picking the mindset of other photographers, gear tips etc.
Years on I found myself chatting on these great podcasts as a guest speaker, such as Brent Bergherm’s Latitude Photography and David Johnston’s Landscape Photography Show. After a half a dozen or so, the need for me to tell my story and expertise to other photographers became second nature and to be honest, I love a good chat.
Soon after I was introduced to the new podcast hosted by Tom Peters and Paul Thomson. Two great English blokes giving their voice, and after speaking as a guest I found myself today as a full time host with these guys.
After years of listening to podcasts I felt that there was always something missing in the content that I’d like to hear. As great as it is to chat with some of the most popular photographers in the world, it is also great to hear photographers with a bit of experience on field to chat about their common experiences, new techniques, gear we use outdoors, for example, as they evolve over time. Something that Nick Page as a host on Tripod Photography started to evolve, but was soon abandoned.
Tom, Paul and myself are all family men with small children. Although we as photographers would like to spend our time travelling the world on workshops etc, our time is limited. We have refined expertise in landscape photography but as we all know this passion of ours is constantly growing and we’d like to share that experience with you as listeners.
So please, come along, have a listen to our podcast, or even email us for a future chat.
If there is any content the public would like us to discuss please drop us a line. We’d love to hear from you!
